  8.      MultiCopy and OEM license agreements are available for any or all
  9.      of the utilities included in the CTS Serial Port Utilities. Please
  10.      see OEM.TXT or contact CTS, Inc. for details.

  12.      ** Personal **

  14.      This is the most economical registration for a single user. If you need
  15.      to use (or used) the SPU to diagnose a problem with your personal
  16.      computer, then this is the license for you. By registering, you obtain
  17.      personalized support to assist you with trouble-shooting your computer.
  18.      Details are provided in the User Guide section titled "Customer Support
  19.      Policy". As part of this license, you also receive:
  20.  
  21.        *   Additional features in PortInfo includes the Windows Setup
  22.            Verification test that makes sure that Windows is setup
  23.            correctly. PortInfo suggests specific changes if any are
  24.            required
  25.            for your computer.
  26.  
  27.        *   BIOS_Fix includes the Windows Setup verification
  28.  
  29.        *   30 minutes of personal assistance with your serial port problems -
  30.            you talk to a programmer!
  31.  
  32.        *   The most current version of the CTS Serial Port Utilities.
  33.  
  34.        *   A FREE CompuServe IntroPak which gets you online with CompuServe
  35.            without the regular signup fee plus a $15 usage credit.

  37.        *   Announcements about updates.

  42.      The license provided with this option allows the registered user to use
  43.      the SPU on any computer personally owned or used exclusively by the
  44.      registered user.

  46.      ** Personal PLUS **

  48.      This registration option provides all of the benefits above plus:

  50.        *   A new step-by-step guide to installing a modem. This informative
  51.            document will help you make the right decisions about organizing
  52.            your serial ports and IRQs when you are installing or upgrading
  53.            your modem.
  54.  
  55.        *   The serial port troubleshooting guide. This helpful document will
  56.            help you resolve the most common types of serial ports problems.

  60.         *   A printed copy of the attractive 86 page, 8.5 x 11" User Guide,
  61.            including 30 pages of introductory and reference information not
  62.            included in the electronic manual. This additional information
  63.            includes serial port basics, types of serial ports, when and why
  64.            you need a 16550A UART, how and when you can share interrupts
  65.            between serial ports, details of the RS-232 interface, cable
  66.            wiring, and how IRQ 2 and IRQ 9 are used.

  68.        *   60 minutes of personal assistance with your serial port problems.

  70.        *   The MouseOn and MouseOff utilities. The "mouse utilities" allow a
  71.            mouse and a modem to share the same interrupt when running under
  72.            DOS.

  74.      The license provided with this option allows the registered user to use
  75.      the SPU on any computer personally owned or exclusively used by the
  76.      registered user.

  79.      ** Professional **
  80.      ------------------
  81.      This license is for consultants and corporate support specialists who
  82.      routinely deal with a multiple computers. Treat the SPU like your
  83.      screwdriver - that is, as long as it is in your possession and not
  84.      "left" (installed) at any other machine, you are in compliance with the
  85.      license. Only one individual is authorized to call for support.
  86.  
  87.      This license option provides all of the benefits described above, plus:
  88.  
  89.        *   A number of new "advanced options" are available in the PortInfo
  90.            utility designed specifically for the technical user. These include
  91.            the ability to create fully automated batch files to operate
  92.            PortInfo, a configuration file which allows operation without
  93.            command line switches, and the ability to force or suppress
  94.            different tests. See the "Advanced PortInfo" section for more
  95.            details.

  97.        *   The bonus utility "FindCOM" which locates any serial port installed
  98.            in the computer system. This utility does a "safe search" of the
  99.            I/O address area to find any 8250 compatible serial port at *any*
  100.            address. A very handy utility for those "unknown" machines.

  102.        *   90 minutes of technical support (one authorized caller per license)
  103.  
  104.        *   Allows use of the SPU on multiple computers AS LONG AS the SPU is
  105.            ONLY used on ONE COMPUTER AT A TIME. Site licenses are available
  106.            for situations where multiple installed copies are required.

  108.      ** Professional PLUS **

  110.      Includes everything in the Professional License, PLUS:
  111.  
  112.        *   A "toolkit copy" of the CTS SwapIRQ(tm) utility. SwapIRQ is our
  113.            $24 (retail) DOS utility that lets DOS applications use any IRQ
  114.            supported by a serial port or modem. A very handy utility for those
  115.            situations where an IRQ conflict could be resolved *if* a software
  116.            application could just use a different IRQ. Now it can!

  120.            SwapIRQ is a TSR which uses 784 bytes of memory and redirects
  121.            hardware-generated IRQs to the IRQ the software uses. SwapIRQ runs
  122.            in DOS, or in a DOS box under Windows and OS/2.

  124.            Note: each installed copy of SwapIRQ requires an additional
  125.            license. Multicopy discounts and site licenses are available if
  126.            required. Contact CTS for details.

  128.        *   A "toolkit copy" of the CTS PortFix utility ($14.95). PortFix is
  129.            another little DOS TSR utility (only 704 bytes!) which eliminates
  130.            lockups caused by some faulty UARTs shipped with PCI computers
  131.            during late 1993 and 1994. These faulty UARTs have also been used
  132.            in some addin cards...if you are experiencing occasional lockups,
  133.            particularly on the "second use" of the port, then this utility is
  134.            worth a shot!

  136.      CTS IOInfo (tm)
  137.      ---------------
  138.      IOInfo performs a detailed test of the I/O space in the computer
  139.      and displays a descriptive chart showing what addresses are used
  140.      and available. Runs in a DOS box in Windows, Windows 95 or OS/2 to
  141.      provide information about devices available in each environment and
  142.      combines all of the environment reports together in a single
  143.      report.

  148.      IRQInfo PRO (tm)
  149.      ----------------
  150.      The professional version of IRQInfo includes support for even more
  151.      hardware devices that use IRQs and includes an integrated TSR module
  152.      that watches computer while you use it to determine if any of the
  153.      unused IRQs have a "hidden device" using them. IRQInfo PRO includes
  154.      a full color animated display as devices are detected, and
  155.      continually "learns" about your system as long as the TSR module is
  156.      loaded. NOTE: TSR module uses only 512 bytes.

  163.      This is a comprehensive Interrupt Mapping utility. IRQInfo detects
  164.      nearly all common devices and accurately displays their IRQs.

  166.      scanners, the mouse, hard and floppy disk drives, network cards,
  167.      SCSI devices...just about everything that uses an IRQ. Due to the
